Prof. Dr. med. Dennis Ladage

The pulmonology department headed by Prof. Ladage is the flagship of the multidisciplinary Maria Hilf Clinic. Not only is it one of the largest in Germany; also impressive is the multitude of its specialty areas. From a nationally recognized laboratory to allergy diagnostics, a lung cancer center and an isolation unit for patients with infectious diseases, the clinic offers everything that is associated with state-of-the-art pulmonology.

Dennis Ladage was born in Cologne; after finishing school he studied medicine in Cologne, Zurich and Boston, and received his doctorate at the Cologne University Faculty of Medicine in 2006. His second doctorate - in sports science – was obtained at the German Sports University of Cologne. The combination of sport and medicine seems strange only at first glance. "There is a lot of overlap between the two, especially in the areas of lung performance and function diagnostics," says the professor.

Dr. Ladage remained loyal to the University Hospital of Cologne even after his studies. Before moving to Mönchengladbach, he worked there for many years as a senior physician and deputy head of the pulmonology department. Since 2016, he has also been the chief emergency physician for the Rhein-Kreis Neuss district and a member of the board of the Cologne-Solingen Lung Cancer Center.

Dennis Ladage's special scientific and practical interest is the treatment of pulmonary hypertension.
