In August 2022 Professor Axel Heidenreich was appointed member of the EAU Testicular Cancer Guidelines Committee, corresponding member of the Southwest German Society for Urology and President of the 2024 Congress of the North Rhine-Westphalian Society for Urology.
The appointment as corresponding member of the Southwest German Society for Urology is associated with Prof. Heidenreich's activities in the area of young urologists further education. He encourages their interest in basic scientific research and their desire to improve their skills.
His goals as president of the 2024 Urology Congress, which he co-chairs with resident urologist Dr. Sassan Nazari, is to develop an interesting scientific program. In doing so, he hopes not only to motivate young urologists to engage in clinical and translational research, but also to optimize sectoral collaboration between practice and clinic and to show new ways of developing future cooperation. The focus is also on presenting new developments in the diagnosis and therapy of urogenital tract diseases and promoting their rapid implementation in everyday clinical practice.
