Dr. Jorn H. Witt is one of the most experienced specialists in the field of robotic surgery in the world. He has personally performed around 10,000 robotic-assisted procedures, reviewed more than 25,000 robotic surgery cases and has authored numerous publications on the subject. He has thus made a truly invaluable contribution to the development and promotion of innovative robotic-assisted surgery in urology.
Since April 2024, Dr. Witt has been chief of the Urology and Urological Surgery Department “Urokompetenz” at the Bel Etage Clinic, a modern private medical facility located in Düsseldorf, the capital of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. He is also a senior consultant at the Mannheim University Hospital Urology Department, a national tertiary reference center. His previous working experience included a 20-year leadership of the Department of Urology, Pediatric Urology and Urologic Oncology at St. Anthony's Hospital in Gronau, which was turned into one of the largest urological centers in Germany. There he also founded and directed the Northwest Prostate Center, a certified multidisciplinary prostate cancer center and a reference center for urologic cancer surgery. Another highlight of his biography is his position as Director of Paracelsus-Klinik Holzheim, the largest and most reputable urology hospital in Düsseldorf.
Jorn H. Witt is one of the founders of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für roboterassistierte Urologie (German Society for Robotic Urology) and has been repeatedly elected president of various scientific conferences at national and international level. He is a member of the Laparoscopic and Robotic-Assisted Surgery Working Group of the German society of urology (DGU). In Spetember 2015 he became associated board member of the European Robotic Urology Section (ERUS), and in November 2018 was elected Chairman of the Laparoscopic and Robotic-Assisted Surgery working group of the German society of urology (DGU). Dr.Witt has been a WHO digital health affiliated expert since 2019.
