Dr. Manuel Nastaja's professional qualifications are orthopedics and traumatology (including additional training in the so-called "special traumatology", i.e. the treatment of very severe injuries and their consequences). However, foot surgery has been his special interest area since the beginning of his career.
Almost immediately after completing his education, he took over the management and organization of the foot outpatient clinic at the Bergmannscheil Clinic in Gelsenkirchen, which later grew into the Foot and Ankle Center. Dr. Nastai decided to devote himself to this particular field, constantly improving his skills and learning new techniques. Currently, as a co-owner and leading specialist of a private orthopaedic clinic, as well as department head of a Helios clinic, he focuses on the development of minimally invasive techniques that leave no scars, minimize the risk of infection and accelerate healing, enable to avoid implants and preserve the joints.
Dr. Manuel Nastai is a member of the German Association for Foot and Ankle Surgery (D.A.F.), the Society for Foot and Ankle Surgery (G.F.F.F.C.), the European Foot and Ankle Society (E.F.A.S.) and the German Society for Orthopaedics and Traumatology (D.G.O.U.).
He is board certified (D.A.F. in 2016 and G.F.F.C. in 2020) in foot surgery and is a referent and instructor in minimally invasive surgery.
